Loadout Drops have been completely removed from Warzone 2 and while some were glad, other players shared major concerns.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 arrives on November 16, and players were shocked by Infinity Ward’s decision to remove Loadout Drops from the game. While some players were in favor of the change, there were some major concerns.
Warzone 2 was finally revealed at Call of Duty Next, with streamers dropping into the new Al Mazrah map and experiencing new gameplay changes such as the Gulag 2.0 and multiple circles. However, the news that Loadout Drops have been removed was divisive.
Now, players will have to purchase their Gunsmith weapon from ‘The Shop’ rather than collect everything they need from a Loadout Drop. They’ll need to either find or purchase their Lethal and Tactical Equipment separately, and Perks won’t be available at all.
This is a major change from the original Warzone with many players surprised and split over Infinity Ward’s decision to remove one of the game’s defining features, sharing their major concerns.
Leaker TheGhostOfHope was worried that “the lack of loadouts in WZ2.0 will result in selfish teammates.”
“There is no incentive to teamwork where you all give up your cash and get the loadout like current Warzone,” they explained. “This new system goes against the core idea of team work [in my opinion].”
One thing I’m realizing is that the lack of loadouts in WZ2.0 will result in selfish teammates. There is no incentive to teamwork where you all give up your cash and get the loadout like current Warzone. This new system goes against the core idea of team work Imo.
Another Reddit user explained that they love Caldera’s free loadout drop because they can grab it and immediately look for a fight. “Now I’ll have to loot and loot (which looked tedious) before I have to go fight buy station campers to get my custom gun. It’s early but so far I’m not a fan.”
Many others were worried that this new system will just lead to every Buy Station getting camped, as players can’t access their favorite weapons without it.
However, not everyone was as concerned. Once the system was explained in full, streamer Repullze called the new system a “phat W (win)” and the replies were full of players glad of the changes.

Most were especially happy to see that “crutch” Perks like Combat Scout, Serpentine, and Overkill won’t be in the game and liked that you’d need to spend more to acquire two custom weapons.
The streamers playing Warzone 2 didn’t have full access to the new system, so we’ll likely need to wait until the game releases on November 16 to get a better understanding of how it changes CoD’s new battle royale.

Call of Duty players will be able to drop into the fan-favorite Verdansk map again with the arrival of Warzone Mobile.
Call of Duty have been players calling for the return of Verdansk since its removal from Warzone, and now the fan-favorite map is making its long-awaited return in Warzone Mobile.
There is a plethora of Call of Duty content that players are looking ahead to in 2022, including the release of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, as well as the brand-new mobile version of Warzone.
At the Call of Duty Next event, the developers revealed new details about the content that will be included when Warzone Mobile finally arrives, such as the return of the popular Verdansk map.
Verdansk became a fan-favorite location for Warzone players to drop into but was eventually switched to Caldera with the arrival of Vanguard Season 1. Since then, players have been desperate to play on the map again.
The good news is that Verdansk will be available in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile at launch. Its return was first teased in a trailer for the game, and now it’s been confirmed by the developers at CoD Next.
The developers announced: “From the snow-lined ridges near the Military Base to the hot drop of SuperStore, get ready to fight through hallmark vistas, urban areas, open battlegrounds, and everywhere in-between.”
They also added that the map will be just like the original Warzone map before all the changes, with locations like Dam, TV Station, Downtown, a closed Stadium, and more to drop into. There will also be Contracts that can be completed to unlock rewards like cash and weapon XP.
This news will come as a relief to long-time Warzone players that have been eagerly waiting to jump into Verdansk again. It remains to be seen if we’ll see other Warzone maps like Fortune’s Keep added to the game as well.

The Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 developers have confirmed that both games will have an improved RICOCHET anti-cheat system.
The Call of Duty developers have confirmed that an “upgraded and improved” version of the RICOCHET anti-cheat system will be available in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 at launch.
While there is a ton of excitement for both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, players are concerned about how the developers are planning to handle the prominent issue of cheaters ruining matches.
RICOCHET anti-cheat has been combating this problem since it was first added in October 2021, and it’s been confirmed that the system will be better than ever in both of the upcoming games.
Back on June 16, the developers stated that RICOCHET will be active in MW2 and Warzone 2 at launch. At the CoD Next event, they explained that it will have “new features and mitigations to protect the game.”
In an official blog post, the devs assured players that a year of updates from Team RICOCHET has helped create an “upgraded and improved” anti-cheat system to battle cheaters in both titles.
RICOCHET makes use of a kernel-level driver which can detect any software and applications being used by players to hack and cheat. Activision can then ban any accounts that were found cheating.
In a previous progress report, the devs promised players that the RICOCHET anti-cheat system will continue to “get smarter and better as time progresses.” This means we’ll see even more improvements arrive later.
Hopefully, the changes made to RICOCHET will reduce the issue of cheaters and hackers in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. We’ll just have to wait and see how effective it is when both games arrive.

Loadout drops will not feature in Warzone 2 as the devs look to deliver The Shop feature as a means to purchase your weapons.
Loadout drops were a staple of the original Warzone battle royale, but Warzone 2 players will have to purchase their weapons from enhanced Buy Stations called The Shop instead.
Warzone fans received a ton of new information from the Call of Duty Next event as content creators and streamers were lucky enough to test out an early version of Warzone 2. Several new features were revealed during the gameplay showcase like the new Gulag, new circle mechanics, and the Al Mazrah map.
While all eyes were on the new features set to improve the Warzone experience, players couldn’t help but notice one drastic exclusion. It seems loadout drops will not be included in Warzone 2.
Instead, you’ll have to access new and improved versions of Buy Stations called The Shop to secure your custome weapon builds. At these locations, you’ll be able to “buy and upgrade equipment and weapons, including the custom weapons you created before dropping in.”
Loadout drops have been an integral part of Warzone gameplay since the game’s early days. Alongside weapons, the feature would also allow players to harness equipment and Perks after reaching a free loadout drop or purchasing their very own.
Breaking: Perks will NOT be available in Warzone 2 at launch Here's info on the Shop. pic.twitter.com/5NQ4iUvYI4
Players will only be able to purchase their custom weapons from The Shop in Warzone 2.
Given the removal of loadouts, you’ll have to use The Shop to get you ready for battle. Alongside custom weapons, you’ll also find gear such as Gas Masks, Killstreaks, and Armor.
Much like Buy Stations of the past, players will also be able to buy back their teammates after they’ve been taken out.
The devs made it clear that you will not be able to purchase Perks at The Store, which was another main component of a custom loadout in the original Warzone. While you’ll be able to purchase a limited amount of equipment at The Store, you’re more likely to find Tactical and Lethals as ground loot.
Relying on a free loadout drop to change your weapons depending on your circumstances was a vital aspect of Warzone strategy. This is all set to change in Warzone 2, as you’ll have less direct access to the weapons at your disposal.
