Thor: Love and Thunder take classic items from the MCU and finds new uses for them. For example, Thor has an entirely new version of the Bifrost.
Before the destruction of Asgard, people traveled the realms via a portal at the head of the Bifrost Bridge. But ever since Thor: Ragnarok, the ability to travel between the realms was temporarily lost. Thankfully, the creation of Stormbreaker proved there was another way. But now, in the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, the Bifrost has reappeared in a totally unexpected way.
Avengers: Infinity War introduced Stormbreaker as a new weapon for Thor against Thanos. But rather than a hammer, it was a powerful weapon that summoned the power of blue fire and the Bifrost. So, Thor could travel wherever he needed using only his new toy. However, this particular use only happened when he appeared during the Battle of Wakanda to confront Thanos in Infinity War's climax. As a result, the full extent of the axe has yet to get explored.

Since then, Asgard has become a small community on Earth run by King Valkyrie. Love and Thunder marketing has also shown how New Asgard has fared, becoming a brand new tourist destination. Cruise ships appear at the dock alongside a new vessel headed by Thor's goats, which pull his chariot in Norse mythology. In Love and Thunder, they function similarly, but they also serve as a new realm hopping creation, thanks to Stormbreaker.
As an homage to the comics and the Bifrost from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor's latest vessel can travel through space, with his goats leading the charge and a rainbow trail following behind it. While it may not teleport users as the original Bifrost had, Stormbreaker's unique feature has allowed for faster travel through the cosmos. However, it's unclear if it has been used for tourist travel or just as a makeshift ship for Thor, Jane, Korg and Valkyrie to use.

Either way, its leaders, Thor's goats, also appear to be invaluable allies. That means that, while Thor's new vessel may seem small, it could carry immense power both from the might of his goats and the immeasurable power within Stormbreaker. Plus, it may also be incredibly durable even when Thor isn't on board, as it's shown withstanding the might of Olympian soldiers in the Love and Thunder's marketing.
A portable Bifrost via Stormbreaker may be a previously underutilized feature for the weapon, but it's still one of the most ingenious. Now, as it's seemingly getting used to its full potential, audiences may finally have an opportunity to see the beauty of the Bifrost from a new perspective as Thor and Co. use it to travel the cosmos and save other kingdoms. By extension, its vessel, passengers and rainbow trail also keep the spirit of Asgard alive as it spreads the beauty of the Bifrost and the memory of his friend, Heimdall, across the void of space.
To see the new Bifrost in action, Thor: Love and Thunder arrives in theaters July 8.
