Few details released after man's body found near construction site
The New Hampshire attorney general's office, along with Windham and state police, are investigating a suspicious death in Windham.
Investigators said a man's body was found by a construction crew Thursday morning near a portable toilet on West Shore Road near the entrance to Woodvue Road.
West Shore Road was blocked off all day while police investigated. Neighbor Cole Forrence said he was heading to school when he saw the police tape.
"It was the weirdest thing," he said. "I thought it was construction, but it ended up being a crime scene."
Cathy Souter said she has lived in the area for almost 30 years, and she described the situation as unnerving.
"It's sad, actually," she said. "Say a prayer as you go by and hope – I don't know what you can hope for. There's nothing you can hope for. You can't hope that it's somebody you didn't know, because that's awful. Of course, you don't hope it's somebody you know. It's all awful."
Few details in the case have been released. Police were taking pictures of a vehicle at the Windham police station, but it's unclear if and how it might be connected to the case.
